Your Last Week at Work
Traditionally, teachers give out small omiyage treats to the staff when they leave.
The set phrase for leaving in “お世話になりました” (osewaninarimashita) meaning “Thank you for taking care of me”
An example of a slightly longer leaving note would be:

この すうねんかんはたいへんおせわになりました。 いろいろおしえていただき、とてもゆういぎな (#of years) ねんかんをすごせました。 またであえるひをたのしみにしております。 これからもよろしくおねがいいたします。
Generally, it is frowned upon to take a lot of nenkyuu at the very end of your contract. Try to use up your nenkyuu before your last week or discuss the reasons why you wish to take nenkyuu your last week well ahead of time with your supervisor.
